Kirkkonummi municipality has selected Louhintahiekka to carry out the renovation of Kirkkonummentie and Överbyntie, located in the central area of Kirkkonummi. The contract is valued at approximately 10 million euros.
The contract won by Louhintahiekka involves the rehabilitation of the existing infrastructure on Kirkkonummentie and Överbyntie. Kirkkonummentie will be converted into a two-lane road in both directions, and the current intersection of Överbyntie and Kirkkonummentie will be replaced by a new roundabout. The project will also include the construction of new pedestrian and bicycle paths, bus stops, and the renewal of lighting using metal poles and LED luminaires. Traffic safety will be enhanced by building central island arrangements at pedestrian crossings on Överbyntie. In addition, a new street connection and stormwater basin will be built for the Sports Park.
– “This comprehensive project includes several types of work that fall within Louhintahiekka’s core areas of expertise, such as ground reinforcement, street construction, municipal engineering, and lightweight and surface structures. The work will be carried out in a heavily trafficked area near the center of Kirkkonummi, which requires the contractor to have excellent project management capabilities, as well as strong collaboration skills and willingness to work with local stakeholders and road users,” says Aapo Lahtinen, CEO of Louhintahiekka.
The project will be completed by November 2026.
