atNorth is expanding its FIN02 data center in Sinimäki, Espoo, as part of its growing footprint in Finland, where the company currently operates three data centers and is developing a fourth facility, FIN04. The project represents modern and energy-efficient data center construction, with a strong focus on sustainability, security of supply and an accelerated delivery schedule.
Louhintahiekka was responsible for the project’s earthworks, ground reinforcement, piling and foundation structures, acting as the main contractor for this phase of the project. The contract covered an extensive scope from preconstruction works to completed foundation structures, while meeting the demanding requirements of data center construction.
As is typical in data center projects, the schedule was extremely tight, while plans and technical details continued to evolve during construction. Delivery reliability, efficient project management and close collaboration with the client played a key role in the successful execution of the project.
“Data center projects are known for exceptionally demanding schedules, and changes often occur during the implementation phase. In this project, we were able to advance the work flexibly and in close cooperation with atNorth,” says Project Manager Aleksi Vipusaari.
Louhintahiekka’s expertise was especially demonstrated through the management of a highly demanding project scope and the ability to react quickly to changing situations without compromising project progress. The project was delivered with a strong customer-oriented approach in close cooperation with the client and other stakeholders.
