Tuusula - Koskenmäki roundabout

The 1+1 lane Highway 45 in the center of Tuusula was widened to 2+2 lanes over a distance of 1.5 kilometres, and a 2+2 lane roundabout was constructed on Koskenmäentie. Intersecting road 139 was improved over a 1-kilometer stretch, and one junction was converted into a roundabout.

The project included the construction of three new bridges, the widening of one bridge, and the demolition of two older bridges.

1.6 kilometers of pedestrian and bicycle paths were built, along with about 0.6 kilometers of streets and private roads. In addition, 1.1 kilometers of noise barriers were constructed as a design-build contract. Municipal infrastructure was also renovated.

Highway 45 is a heavily trafficked road, adding to the project's unique challenges.

The project was completed 7 months ahead of schedule, bringing significant benefits to both traffic and the client.
